READING CHALLENGE UPDATE

Isaiah 6:9 was a recent verse we studied in our R&R and M&M Time
For to us a child is born, to us a son is given, and the government will be on his shoulders. And he will be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.
Here is some of the great insight given into theses verses from our tweens:

Brandon wrote:
Jesus is born. Jesus came to the world and anyone with power shall honor Jesus. Even though he's a baby - He's got the power! Jesus has many nicknames.

Ashley wrote:
This piece of writing is talking about the infant Jesus! Counselor means he gives great advice. Mighty God, they have to honor Jesus. He shall never die because He is everlasting! He brings mellow to the world.

Matthew 5:13 was a recent verse we studied on the I Must Reading Challenge.
Here are some examples of what your fellow J12'ers wrote in their journals:

Here is the verse:
"You are the salt of the earth. But if the salt loses its saltiness, how can it be made salty again? It is no longer good for anything, except to be thrown out and trampled by men." NIV

Kiahna:
You're here for a reason and you are the seasoning on worldly people. You pass on your godliness so someone else passes it on to someone else. You shall never lose your Godliness!

Sarai:
We are here to serve the Lord and to tell others about Him. But if you don't - people will not see God in you and will not believe...and us and them will end up in the "garbage".

Here is ANOTHER verse AND some responses:

Be wise in the way you act toward outsiders. Make the most of every opportunity. Let your conversation be full of grace and seasoned with salt, so that you may know how to answer everyone."
Colossians 4:5-6

Gabriel
This means you should treat everyone the same whether they are your best friend or some complete stranger. You should speak with kindness because you never know how much a conversation might mean to someone. It could be the difference between where they are going after they are done on this earth.

Zach
This means to honor the Lord in every way. Be like Jesus at 12. Answer questions like he does.
